What is the Health Insights genetic test?
The Health Insights test is a ground-breaking genetic health test that helps you understand your risk of developing common conditions before symptoms appear. It combines Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) — which analyse millions of small genetic variations across your DNA — with traditional clinical factors like your age, sex at birth, and ethnicity. This creates a highly accurate, personalised risk profile, helping you and your GP take preventive action to support your long-term wellbeing.
Which conditions can be tested for?
The Health Insights Test helps identify your genetic risk for four common health conditions. Eligibility criteria vary depending on the condition and will be confirmed by your GP during your appointment. Your doctor will also answer any questions you have before testing.
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)
- Aged 40–69
- No medical history of cardiovascular disease
Type 2 Diabetes
- Aged 40–69
- No existing diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
Breast Cancer
- Aged 40–69
- Assigned female at birth
- No prior or current breast cancer diagnosis
- Not known to carry the BRCA gene
Prostate Cancer
- Aged 40–69
- Assigned male at birth
- No prior or current prostate cancer diagnosis
How to book your Health Insights test
You can book Health Insights as a standalone genetic test for £699 (including consultation)
1. Start with an initial consultation for £167
Begin with a 30‑minute GP consultation. Your doctor will review your medical history, answer any questions, and confirm whether the Health Insights genetic risk test is suitable for you.
2. Pay the remaining balance in clinic
If you’re eligible to proceed, you’ll pay the remaining balance for the genetic health test during your appointment.
3. Receive and complete your home DNA sample kit
Your home DNA testing kit will arrive by post. Follow the simple instructions to provide a saliva sample and return it using the prepaid packaging for laboratory analysis.
4. Access your results and follow‑up review
Your clinically reviewed results will be ready in approximately 4–6 weeks. We’ll then schedule a 30‑minute GP follow‑up to explain your personalised insights, genetic risk markers, and any recommended next steps for your long‑term health.
